We are honoured to invite you to the Battle of Hamel Dinner for the 44th Battalion AIF Memorial which will be held at the RAAFA Club, Bull Creek on the 4th of July 2025 at 6:30 p.m. This event is hosted by The 44th Australian Infantry Battalion Memorial Inc. and will be in the presence of His Excellency The Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM, The Governor of Western Australia and the original King’s Colours of the Battalion.The money raised from this event will go towards the creation of a physical war memorial for the 44th Battalion AIF, which is the only West Australian Battalion from World War One to not have its own memorial. Over 2,800 West Australians served with this unit in 15 battles on the Western Front from 1916 to 1918, suffering 1,700 casualties, including 482 who paid the supreme sacrifice in the service of our country. The 44th disbanded in 1960 and its lineage is carried on today by the Royal Western Australia Regiment.
