2025 Newcastle Joyce Blewitt & Nan Price Awards

Open to Piano students residing in the Newcastle, Hunter, Upper Hunter, Central Coast, Mid-North Coast or New England Regions of NSW.
The Joyce Blewitt Award is open to students who are currently studying and presenting works from Grade 6 to 8 AMEB level, or equivalent. Maximum age limit is 18 years at the time of the Award performance.
The Nan Price Award is open to students who are currently studying and presenting works from AMEB Certificate of Performance or Diploma level, or equivalent. Maximum age limit is 21 years (at the time of the Award performance).

About the Adjudicator
Jane Kim
FTCL, LTCL (Distinction), LMusA
With over 20 years of experience in teaching, accompanying, composing, and adjudicating, Jane has built a versatile and dedicated career as a music educator. She has worked across both private tuition and a variety of school settings, and is currently on the piano faculty at The Scots College (Bellevue Hill). Jane is a Piano Examiner with the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB NSW) and was honoured with the Most Outstanding Private Teacher (Preliminary to Diploma – Written Subjects) award in 2024, after being named one of the Top 5 Most Outstanding Private Teachers in the same category in 2023. As a composer, Jane was awarded Second Prize in the Law Society of NSW’s Just Music competition, with her solo piano work performed at the City Recital Hall, Sydney, in 2018. In 2020, two of her original compositions were published by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as part of their Contemporary Music Score Collection on eScholarship.
