STUDENT ENTRY
ABOUT
Proudly presented by the Royal Academy of Dance, the Shirley Treacy Awards are being held this coming August and September, in Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and Rockhampton.
The Shirley Treacy Awards are a great opportunity for RAD students in these areas to showcase their skills and experience a new format of performance.
Held for the third year in 2025, don't miss this opportunity to be part of this exciting event.
The Awards
All registered students will participate in an open class in the location that is closest to their current RAD home studio. The open class is adjudicated by an experienced RAD examiner, who will select and announce the regional finalists after each open class.
Regional finalists return to the venue that same afternoon, to perform their chosen exam dance or variation as a solo (excluding character dance).
NEW - Following the regional finals, finalists will then be selected to perform their chosen dance/variation again, which will be recorded by the RAD. The finalist recordings will be sent securely to our guest Adjudicators at a later date who will select the prize recipients for each level. These finalist recordings will also be shown/screened at the online Awards presentation which is open for all to attend on Sunday 14 September, where the winners and prize recipients will be announced.
