Mindfulness to Combat Burnout
CPD Guide: 1 EW, PS: The Society welcomes back Dr Hayley North, Neuroscientist at Understand Your Brain, to present this session on mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of focusing on the present moment, which strengthens brain networks related to attention, emotion regulation, and self-awareness. With regular practice, it reduces stress, improves clarity and emotional intelligence, and helps us respond to situations with calm, intentional action.

Dr Hayley North has a PhD in neuroscience and dedicates her life to a scientific understanding of the brain and sharing that understanding with the wider community to improve wellbeing. Her research and publications uncover molecular and genetic changes in mental illness. But it's Hayley's contagious enthusiasm and ability to explain complex topics to non-scientists that have engaged audiences around the country to implement positive and lasting change within their lives.
