Watch this ACA webinar by UNSW lecturer Daniel Yu for a CPD presentation in our joint AI series, this time exploring useful AI tools and emerging workflows for use in architecture practice.
In this timely, practical webinar, Daniel presents an overview of emerging AI tools and workflows transforming architectural and urban planning practices. Topics include:
- computational coding methods
- image and video generation techniques
- interactive multi-modal interactions
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- generative AI tools
Daniel critically examines recent advances, highlighting their potential for creating innovative design processes, analytical capabilities and visual outputs. Daniel also compares these advanced AI-driven approaches with traditional workflows, addressing their benefits, limitations and practical implications for contemporary practice.
Through practical examples and actionable insights, viewers will gain a clearer understanding of how to effectively integrate these emerging AI methods into their professional practice, enhancing both creativity and efficiency in project delivery.
OUR SPEAKER
Daniel Yu is a Lecturer in the School of Built Environment within the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture at the University of New South Wales. Specialising in advanced computational design workflows, Daniel holds a Bachelor of Architectural Computing and a Masters of Philosophy in Architecture from UNSW. Daniel’s previous work as a post-graduate research associate in the UNSW Computational Design program involved numerous research projects developing analytical and optimisation processes for the built environment. Daniel’s research focuses on Urban Infrastructure and Planning, Environmental Analysis and Optimisation, Performance Architecture, Biomimetics, and Sustainability. He is currently a PhD candidate focusing on exploring democratisation outcomes of AI integrated tools.
