Matilda JR is an abridged version of the full Matilda the Musical, based on Roald Dahl’s beloved book. It follows the story of Matilda Wormwood, a bright and imaginative young girl with extraordinary powers. Despite being neglected and mistreated by her cruel and ridiculous parents and bullied by the villainous headmistress Miss Trunchbull, Matilda finds comfort in books and the kindness of her teacher, Miss Honey.
With courage and cleverness, Matilda stands up for what's right, changes her own destiny, and helps bring justice to her school and those around her.
This colourful musical features fun and passionate high-energy songs and a message about the power of bravery, intelligence, self-belief and standing up for oneself.
It is performed by actors, dancers and singers from Years 7 to 12 at Lumen Christi College.
