Navigating life in the law with ADHD and neurodivergency can present both challenges and advantages.
Join psychiatrist Dr Roger Paterson and ADHD coach Dr Michele Toner OAM for a practical and insightful session on ADHD in the workplace. Together, they’ll explore the key characteristics of ADHD, the common barriers faced by neurodivergent professionals, and strategies for thriving at work.
This session is ideal for lawyers, legal staff, managers, and anyone seeking to better understand ADHD and how to support themselves or their colleagues.
Dr Roger Patterson FRANZCP provides assessment and treatment of ADHD in teenagers and adults, starting at about 16 and continuing into later life as needs be. He is in full-time private practice. His focus is on medication treatment and he liaises closely with colleagues who provide the essential aspects of a multimodal treatment approach e.g. psychologists and coaches.
Dr Patterson has over 30 years experience treating ADHD, as well as being involved in published research, and supporting community and professional ADHD groups. Specifically, he has been on the Professional Advisory Body of ADHD WA since 1994.
Dr Michele Toner OAM coaches people with ADHD across Australia and around the world. She has a PhD and a Master of Special Education in the area of ADHD.
Her Masters thesis, entitled 'Adults with ADHD; Living in Chaos and Striving for Control', explored the lives of adults with ADHD who were undiagnosed as children. Her PhD thesis investigated the experiences of university students diagnosed with ADHD, identifying strategies to help them with their studies and personal lives as they went through various “Stages of Developing Empowerment”.
