Introduction to Botanic Art with Nita Lester
About
This two-hour workshop is facilitated by Nita Lester who is a botanist, academic, artist and publisher. Nita is currently a Board member of Botanical Artists Society Australia, and her works are held in both private and public collections in Australia and overseas. She has won many awards and is currently a consulting Professor in fine arts and botany.The workshop will focus on botanical art, basic drawing skills using graphite pencil, pen and ink. Watercolours will also be touched on using the drawings generated during the first half of the workshop.
Materials to Bring: Sharp eyesight (so don't forget your glasses) if you need them as botanical art is a fine, detailed process and we will be examining fresh plant samples in detail. All other materials will be supplied, and you will get to take home your drawings.
