The Lofty Mountain Band

About
Beloved local folk favourites, The Lofty Mountain Band, return to the Trinity Sessions stage this September, bringing their signature cacophony of soaring vocal harmonies, white-knuckle fingerpicking and home-style bonhomie. Familiar and intimate, urgent and sacral - the band blends bluegrass, folk, country and soul with sketches and vignettes of South Australia, its landscape, and people painted with mandolin, guitar, banjo, fiddle and double bass.
Playing in support will be Castlemaine native, Maggie Rigby. A musician of extraordinary depth and sophistication, Rigby writes rich, quietly powerful music filled with joy, love, disappointment and a laconic sense of melancholy. Her 2023 debut record, ‘The Best Love In The Universe,’ is a refined, elegiac, and deeply personal collection of songs crafted with confidence, precision and painstaking attention to detail.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to catch a remarkable line-up in a remarkable venue. This will be a show for friends. Book now and be part of something special.
