Unicare Health Seminar : Building Wheelchair Confidence

Unicare Health invites Occupational Therapists involved in seating prescriptions for aged individuals to an in-depth training event focused on navigating the complexities of seating prescription. This session will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to prescribe effective seating systems to maintain comfort, pressure injury prevention, posture management and function.

Choosing the right seating option for aged clients can be complex. With deciding factors like posture, range of motion, pain, diagnosis, co-morbidities, living environment, community access, social needs, family expectations, and budget playing a significant part in the selection process, making the right choice takes expert insight.

She has over 35 years of industry experience and has worked extensively as a clinician and consultant in the aged care sector. As Clinical Educator and Trainer for Unicare Health, she facilitates product and clinical training for allied health professionals, enabling them to become more proficient equipment prescribers.

Annette has significant clinical expertise in prescribing assistive technology to facilitate safe and effective manual handling, seating and positioning, falls prevention, dementia care, mobility and pressure injury prevention, and has assisted hundreds of other therapists in making better-informed decisions when prescribing equipment.
