A Talk on Truth, Reality and AI

About
Come and hear Cory Alpert, a sociologist and writer who specialises in the intersection of artificial intelligence and democracy, as he starts a conversation about misinformation, truth and reality. The way we think about and engage with information has shifted dramatically, with artificial intelligence supercharging these changes. Misinformation is not new; it stretches back to the Roman Empire. Yet, AI adds a fresh layer of complexity.
A short presentation from Cory will start the evening, followed by an audience Q&A. Join Cory for drinks and informal conversation after the formal proceedings.
Cory Alpert has experience working on presidential campaigns and at the White House, Cory brings a unique perspective on how technology shapes societal trust and political engagement. His research focuses on how AI disrupts traditional democratic norms and explores ways to rebuild agency and efficacy in the age of algorithms.
