QSMA is proud to present one of the world's top Indian classical bansuri flute artists, Pt Rajendra Prasanna, with tabla by Sri Abhishek Mishra of Benares, in a full length recital at Ron Hurley Theatre. As well as presenting classical and folk compositions on bansuri, Pt Rajendra-ji will also perform on Shehnai, a double reed instrument known for its unique tone."Rajendra Prasanna is an foremost exponent of Bansuri & Shehnai and a celebrated artist recognized for his unique ability to perform on two instruments at a highest level. It is indeed a very rare skill in the field of Hindustani music. He hails from Benaras and comes from a traditional family of musicians of renowned Benaras Gharana. He preserves, exercises and performs the old traditional music and arts of India which has been retained with his family since many generations...."
