Frailty Fighters - Strategies to Stay out of Hospital
About
Frailty affects 1 in 5 Australians over 65, making early detection crucial for better outcomes and preventing hospital admissions. General Practitioners, primary healthcare nurses, and allied health professionals play a vital role in identifying frailty, yet 75% lack formal geriatrics or gerontology training. This interactive Masterclass will address these challenges by exploring essential topics such as intrinsic capacity, healthy ageing, the links between physical and cognitive frailty, and debunking myths about ageing - emphasizing that it’s never too late to build muscle. You will learn about frailty, surprising risk factors, and the importance of muscle health checks and medication reviews. It will provide insights into reversing muscle loss and positively impacting ageing.
