Rev Fr Mark Hanns MSC was born and raised in the Sutherland Shire in the southern suburbs of Sydney, affeconately known as ‘The Shire’.
Aer finishing school, Fr Mark worked in the electrical trade for about fieen years, interspersed with world travel, before the Hound of Heaven exhausted me on the chase.
Then, having admited the calling, joined the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in 1986 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1995. September 2025 will be thirty (30) years in ordained ministry.
In 2001, Fr Mark completed the Siloam course training for spiritual directors at the Heart of Life Centre in Melbourne. In 2000 and 2002, he trained in Emoonal Release Counselling.
Fr Mark has worked in secondary college chaplaincy, in parish ministry as an assistant priest and as the parish priest, and more recently in chaplaincy at POW Hospital in Randwick, Sydney.
