Join us for an immersive STEM education workshop hosted by Edith Cowan University's School of Science and School of Engineering. This event combines hands-on experiences in aquatic biology and motorsports engineering, designed for educators seeking to boost their STEM teaching toolkit.Event details:

Start your day connecting with fellow educators over coffee from 8:30 am. The program will commence promptly at 9:00 am and conclude at 3:15 pm. Please BYO lunch unless you've booked (and paid) directly with ConASTA. Parking permits, maps, and event details will be provided prior to the event. All attendees will receive a Certificate of Professional Learning

The Sessions
Session 1: Engineering and motorsports - Discover how to use motorsports to teach physics in exciting, hands-on ways. Led by ECU Motorsports Team Leader, this session includes, guided tours of state-of-the-art engineering facilities, interactive demonstrations of activities, practical applications of physics and engineering principles, Q&A sessions with academic staff and insights into engineering career pathways and industry connections.
Session 2: Aquatic Minibeasts - explore freshwater ecosystems at ECU's lake and laboratories. Learn practical, legally compliant methods for incorporating hands-on freshwater invertebrate studies into your curriculum. This session equips educators with field techniques and classroom applications that bring aquatic science to life for students.
