This session provides an overview of how clearly stated learning intentions and success criteria support student understanding and achievement. Drawing on research and formative assessment theory (as outline in Teach Well practices), we will explore practical strategies teachers can use to design and communicate learning goals more effectively.Participants will:
• Unpack how to write and present learning intentions that align with curriculum expectations.
• Explore strategies for making success criteria visible and student friendly.
• Learn how to connect success criteria to assessment and feedback practices.
• Engage in examples across learning areas with time for planning and peer feedback.
