ENT conditions are common presentations in General Practice, making up 3.6 out of 100 consultations. Head and neck cancer is the seventh most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, with the number of diagnosed cases doubling over the past 40 years and predicted to continue to increase.In addition, neurological presentations make up over 4% of cases in Australian general practice. GPs play a key role in recognising, assessing, and treating neurological conditions. They also play an important role in preventing possible neurological complications, such as stroke and neuropathies, while managing chronic diseases. The activity will also dive into ‘Neck Masses. Common causes, when to be worried and how to investigate’ as well as explore incidental cranial aneurysms, which are frequently discovered during imaging for unrelated concerns. The activity will offer insights on when to refer, monitor, or intervene, equipping GPs with the confidence to make informed management decisions.
