Clay Canvas: Tile & Trivet Workshop
About
Join local artist Helen Cattell of Good Hope Pottery for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create a decorative clay tile or trivet using stoneware clay, all within the beautiful setting of the Tootsie Gallery Cafe. Helen will guide you through the process of designing your piece using a variety of pottery tools and stamps, helping you explore an array of textures and patterns to make your creation truly unique. It's a fun and inspiring way to learn new skills, explore your creativity, and enjoy a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.Once your designs are complete, you’ll decorate your tile or trivet using three coats of underglaze, choosing from a vibrant selection of colours to make each piece uniquely yours.
After the workshop, the tiles will be left to dry for a couple of days. Helen will then collect them and take them back to her studio at Good Hope for the firing process.
