Join local artist Helen Cattell of Good Hope Pottery for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create a decorative pottery bowl using the coil-building technique, all within the beautiful setting of the Tootsie Gallery Cafe. Helen will guide you through the process of shaping your bowl by hand with coils of stoneware clay, then show you how to enhance your piece with texture and decoration using stamps and pottery tools. It’s a fun and creative experience—perfect for anyone looking to explore clay in a supportive, inspiring environment.After the workshop, the bowls will be left to dry for a couple of days. Helen will then collect them and take them back to her studio at Good Hope for the firing process. Each piece will undergo a bisque firing, followed by the application of three coats of a glaze of your choice and then a final glaze firing to achieve a glossy, durable finish.
Once complete, your bowls will be ready for collection from Tootsie Gallery Cafe after the firing process.
