Curves in Clay: Shape Your Own Vase

Join local artist Helen Cattell of Good Hope Pottery for a lively, hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own sculptural coil vase using stoneware clay, all set in the vibrant and inspiring Tootsie Gallery Cafe. Helen will guide you through the art of coiling and building up your form, teaching you how to shape a unique vessel with character and flow. Once your vase takes shape, you'll experiment with tools and stamps to add surface texture and patterns, bringing your creation to life with personal flair. Whether you're new to clay or returning to it, this workshop is a fun and creative way to get your hands dirty, make something beautiful and connect with a warm community of fellow makers.When the workshop is complete, the vases will be left to dry for a couple of days. Helen will then collect them and take them back to her studio at Good Hope for the firing process. Each piece will undergo a bisque firing, followed by the application of three coats of a glaze of your choice.
