RCH Education Hub Outreach Program Paediatric Acute Care Study Day.The Royal Children’s Hospital Education Hub Outreach Program offers customised paediatric education and training in collaboration with regional and community health services. Generously funded by the RCH Foundation, the program responds to the needs of nursing and allied health clinicians in regional health sites across Victoria and Tasmania, developing skills and competencies across the paediatric sector to improve paediatric patient care.
Topics:
• Paediatric difference & assessment
• Managing dehydration & fluids
• Common procedures (NGT insertion, PIVC securement, urine collection techniques, capillary blood sampling)
• First 28 days of life/neonatal assessment
• Medication calculations and preparation consideration
• Common Respiratory Illness
Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea will be provided.
