Botanical solar dye and flower painting workshop

Join current exhibiting artist Phoebe Hunter for a hands-on practical workshop painting with flowers and creating botanically dyed scarves. Phoebe’s approach to dyeing is rooted in circular making and a deep appreciation for the natural world. Participants will learn about the principles of botanical dying, using a range of plants to create a range of hues and patterns.
- Cost per participant is $35
- Tools and flowers are supplied along with a cotton swatch to practice
- Best suit 16 and over
- Folks under 18 to be accompanied by participating adult
- Includes light afternoon tea
Silk scarves are available to purchase from Phoebe on the day for $20 ea, allowing participants the option to make more than one piece should they wish to. You are also invited to bring pale coloured textiles from home to work with and any florals or herbs from your garden.
