Bejewelled Treasures of the Discerningly Wealthy
Join us at the RACV City Club Melbourne for a talk by Adrian Dickens of Circa AD Jewels- "Bejewelled Treasures of the Discerningly Wealthy"
In keeping with “Object Lessons” from The Johnston Collection’s 2019 Exhibition, this talk discusses bejewelled treasures and many of their owners from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Lavishly decorated and stylishly designed, these treasures often epitomised the period in which they were created, while others were commissioned for clients and became synonymous with their collections. From the legendary Carl Faberge to the iconic Jean Schlumberger – and many other famous jewellers from yesterday and today – discerning collectors have amassed truly unique pieces that are still being sought the world over for their style, their rareness and their beauty.
Doors will open at 10:00am and the talk will begin at 10:30am. Morning tea will be served.
The event will finish by 12:30pm.
