About
Each road safety education session runs for 90 minutes and includes:* A 20-minute, age-appropriate interactive presentation about road safety.
* A 10-minute guided walk around Kew Traffic School to give the children an opportunity to practice their new knowledge.
* 60 minutes of exclusive use of the Kew Traffic School track and facilities to practice road safety. During this hour, children can make their way around the track as cyclists (with bikes provided by Kew Traffic School to suit all sizes and stages of development) or pedestrians. They can also engage in imaginative play across the facility, for example by role-playing as an emergency services person.
The aim is for children to learn road safety in a broad range of everyday scenarios by engaging in imaginative play.
Our team engages in intentional teaching practices to extend children’s learning about road safety and build their confidence to become more independent road users.
