About
The theme for our August Bottle Club is ‘Pinot Noir - Old or New World’ - 5 years minimum bottle age.Pinot Noir - the Princess of grapes? Difficult to cultivate, susceptible to fungal attack and low yielding. In the winery it ferments hot and it can be a challenge to preserve it’s inherent fruit characters and natural acidity. Jancis Robinson called it ‘a minx of a grape’ - so why do we bother?
Pinot Noir tells us a story of it’s place of origin, terroir and the skill of the winemaker, it remains one of the most expressive and beloved wines in the world. Master Sommelier Madeline Triton calls Pinot ‘sex in a glass’ - nuff said!
So, dig out or seek out a premium bottle of Pinot Noir from either the Old World or the New and join with your friends and guests at the BC table for a celebration of the Princess of wines!
