HAT@ECU - Building Your Teacher Self-Care Toolbox

About
Building Your Teacher Self-Care Toolbox: A Two-Day Professional Learning Course with Guided Implementation.
Are you passionate about teaching but finding it challenging to maintain your own wellbeing amid the daily demands of the classroom? You're not alone. Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions—and one of the most demanding. This innovative professional development course is designed specifically for educators who want to thrive, not just survive, in their teaching practice.
Unlike traditional one-off workshops, this course offers a unique blend of learning, practical application, and supported implementation. Over two days (split by a few weeks of implementation period), you'll build your own personalised self-care toolbox based on the scientifically-proven PERMAH framework (Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Accomplishment and Health) and drawing on wellbeing science. Theory into practice informed by positive psychology is the goal to build your wellbeing literacy while supporting you with the how’s of self-care (time, habits, empowerment, self-compassion, and mindful awareness).
What Makes This Course Different?
You'll move beyond theory to create real, lasting change in your professional life. On day one, you'll discover evidence-based strategies and design your own wellbeing intervention. Then, with support from course facilitators and peers, you'll implement your chosen strategies over three weeks in your actual teaching context. On day two, you'll return to share your experiences, refine your approach, and build a sustainable practice that works for you.
