Art in Conversation: Kelly Gellatly, Arts writer, curator and leader & Jane Burns, artist and currently exhibiting, Movement (Arrest).The conversation will explore this timely body of work that looks at the clash between citizen protests and authority, when there is an increasing need for citizens to fight for what we love including the natural world we are wholly dependent on. Kelly Gellatly is a senior executive with over 25 years’ arts leadership, curatorial, & collection development experience, including a decade as Curator of Contemporary Art at the NGV, Curator of Australian Photography at the NGA, Curator at Heide Museum of Modern Art, & Director of the Ian Potter Museum of Art at the University of Melbourne.
Jane Burns is an artist based in Melbourne creating handwoven work on a digital handloom that sit between the pictorialism of painting and photography, and the materiality of weaving.
