HEN @ Monash Tech School - Superhabitats, Clayton Years 7-11
About
In this session, students will work through two activities as part of the brand new 'Superhabitats' Tech School program.
Resilient Responses
Students will get hands-on with industry-use Geographic Information System software Nearmap and interact with an AI-powered resident bot to explore how habitats might remain resilient to both naturally-induced and human-induced environmental change. They will be tasked with gathering evidence to support hypotheses for what might have occurred in specified areas, and suggest a relevant response, appropriate to their resident.
Bridging Biodiversity
Students will use accessible classroom robotics solution Ozobots to better understand how biodiversity supports a sustainable habitat for their resident. They will learn about keystone species and the impact that they have in keeping an ecosystem balanced and healthy.
This is a great opportunity to visit the Monash Tech school site, which has over $8 million invested in facilities and technology. This is our first workshop with Monash Tech School. Spaces are limited. A wait list will become available if the event books out.
