Raise your voice in praise- why participating in the Mass matters
Encouraging the assembly’s full, conscious and active participation in the Liturgy
Vatican II restored the worshiping assembly as the fundamental symbol of the Church. Our liturgical celebrations both form and express our Catholic faith.
This workshop explores how the assembly is united with Christ to offer praise, worship and thanksgiving in liturgy; how the assembly can develop a sense of agency in its worship; and how individuals can be helped to become ‘one body, one spirit in Christ’ in liturgy.
This workshop will also consider how the worship of the assembly is facilitated by the priest and liturgical ministers using their many gifts to enable the assembly’s prayer. The nature of liturgical ministry and what is needed for liturgical ministers to serve the assembly well will be noted.
