This workshop for clinicians will explore the provision of therapeutic meals in the context of family-based approaches in outpatient and higher levels of care. This includes both a parent-led clinician-supported and clinician-led interventions.Presenters
Dr Andrew Wallis (Clinical Social Worker) and Dr Lisa Dawson (Clinical Psychologist) have many years of experience providing tertiary level therapeutic interventions for young people and their families with eating disorders.
Content
• Theoretical background and framework
• Discussion of clinical processes to enable success
• How clinicians can work directly with young people or alongside parents to model effective meal coaching
• Guided role plays to help develop participants micro skill development
• How to work with a curious and relational frame and have attuned and tailored responses
