Join botanist and artist Katie White for a unique, hands-on workshop that blends ecological insight with artistic exploration.
Ink & Earth invites participants to slow down, observe, and reflect on the natural world—translating both vast and intricate patterns into visual storytelling. From sweeping mulga bands in the Pilbara, fire scars across country, and the shimmer of salt lakes, to the fine details of leaf veins, bark textures, and ant trails—this session encourages a deepened awareness of how everything in nature is interconnected.
Structured around moments of listening and sketching, this immersive experience is inspired by the tradition of field journals. Katie will guide you through observational drawing techniques while unpacking the science behind what we see—revealing how natural systems work together, and why they matter.
