Basketry Skills Workshop (SOLD OUT)

About
Cordage making with Nerida Little from Alegria Creations.Basketry is an ancient craft. It can be functional, practical, artistic, and sustainable. Cordage is essentially string, and it is made by twisting 2 strands of fibre together to make a length of material that can be used to make nets, bags or baskets. Anything that is flexible can be used to make cordage.
In this workshop, you will learn how to make your own cordage from plant fibres and then create a small basket using a coiling technique.
10am to 12pm - Learn to make cordage
12pm to 1pm - break for lunch (bring your own or visit the Penrose Post Cafe)
1pm to 3pm - Make a coiled basket with cordage and waxed linen thread.
