Power analyses are any one of a range of analyses used to calculate the sample size required to detect a meaningful effect in hypothesis testing, or to calculate the power, effect size, sensitivity or significance criterion in a hypothesis test already undertaken.
This training session will provide an introduction to the range of power analyses available and provide two simple examples of their calculation using G*Power. The intent of this workshop is for participants to gain knowledge required to select the right power analysis and parameters for their study, and will not provide step-by-step instruction on how to run the analyses themselves.
