Promoting your Research Online and Social Media Awareness
In this workshop, you will learn about the tools available for building an online presence (blogs, social networks, professional networks and citation presences) and examine the pitfalls and possibilities of using social media to promote your research.
It is increasingly important for HDR candidates to create engaging and professional research profiles online. Academic and industry partners and employers are increasingly turning to Google to find out more about what is happening in the world of research, and if they can’t find out what you are doing or how to get in touch, then you may miss out on valuable opportunities. Making yourself visible and establishing a solid online presence will make it easier for people interested in your research to find you with a simple search.
Facilitated by Marziya Mohammedali, School of Arts and Humanities.
This workshop forms part of the unit CPR6100 - Communicating and Presenting Research. All ECU higher degree by research students are welcome to attend even if you are not enrolled in CPR6100.
