The Wizard of Oz is re-imagined in this vibrant, modernised take on L. Frank Baum’s timeless tale. When teenager Dorothy Gale and her best friend Toto are swept away from their rural life by a tornado, they find themselves in the busy streets and bright lights of Oz. While being pursued by the Wicked Witch of the West, Dorothy embarks on a journey to the Emerald City, hoping the elusive Wizard can help her return home to family.
Along the way, she befriends the homeless Scarecrow, a kind-hearted but tech-obsessed Tin Man and a Cowardly Lion focused on projecting power and control in the busy city streets. Together they confront the Wicked Witch and prove their worth.
The Wizard of Oz invites a new generation to reflect on what is truly means to belong, to believe and to be brave. After all, there really is no place like home – even if ‘home’ looks a little different today.
