This Masterclass is presented by Phil Greenstreet of Rosco Digital Imaging, co-sponsored by the Australian Production Designers Guild and the Australian Cinematographers Society.Phil is a Los Angeles–based imaging specialist with over thirty years in the film and television industry. A recipient of both an Academy Technical Achievement Award and an Engineering Emmy, he is an Associate Member of the American Society of Cinematographers. His backdrop photography has featured in The Batman, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, The Suicide Squad, Mad Men, and Chicago Fire.
This session will explore a range of techniques for creating convincing views through windows on set — from traditional backdrops to digital solutions. It will cover key considerations such as scale, perspective, lensing, and lighting integration, and feature a hands-on demonstration of how to effectively light a Rosco SoftDrop to match the scene and maintain visual continuity.
