About
The Therapeutic Horticulture programs at Kevin Heinze GROW are designed around the goals and needs of the participants, effectively requiring them to lead our staff on the journey of positive personal development through practice in the garden. Opportunities for participant leadership are available in all therapeutic horticulture settings, but require strategies for promoting and utilizing them.This seminar will explore some of those strategies for Therapeutic Horticulture professionals to use in their own settings.
We’ll share real examples from our programs showing how participant leadership can helps participants to experience novel therapeutic outcomes such as developing confidence and identity, feelings of connection with others, learning new skills and other outcomes.
You’ll leave with practical strategies to recognise and create participant leadership opportunities, helping participants experience new therapeutic benefits.
