Can there be equitable electrification — and what does it mean for the modern grid and utility?Join us for a compelling forum featuring Professor Stephanie Pincetl (UCLA) and Dr Sangeetha Chandrashekeran (University of Melbourne) as we explore how electrification can support equity and fairness in the energy transition.
From solar and batteries to smart meters and microgrids, distributed energy challenges traditional utilities and raises urgent questions: Who controls the grid? Who pays for reliability? And who gets left behind?
We'll also hear from Michael Hafner, Program Manager of the Electri-FAIR-cation project in Morwell, showcasing practical steps to ensure disadvantaged households are not excluded from the benefits of decarbonisation.
