Bright-eyed Brown Butterfly Restoration Planting Day

Hepburn Shire Council and local environment groups as a part of the Healthy Coliban Catchment partnership invite you to a planting day to celebrate the next stage of a three-year project to restore habitat of the Bright-eyed Brown Butterfly along the upper Coliban River in Trentham. Join us in celebrating the Bright-eyed Brown Butterfly by taking steps to protect these significant butterflies and the vital ecosystems they call home.Hepburn Shire council & Local environmental groups will provide the plants and tools for the day and staff to assist on the day. Please bring garden gloves and wear appropriate footwear.
Planting of over 6000 trees, shrubs and grasses will occur over the 4-year project and will help establish native habitat
The Bright-eyed Brown Butterfly, a rare wetland-dependent species, serves as the emblematic species for this project, having shown positive reactions to community-driven restoration activities along the Stony and Trent creeks in recent years.
