About this course

This pain management study day will be both didactic & interactive.

Presentations will be provided by:

• Dr. Eliza Beasley (FFPMANZCA - Pain Specialist)
• Lisa Gephart (BN., MScMed (Pain Mgt), MACN)
• Expert clinicians / anaesthetic registrars

This course is suited to:

All nursing staff across multiple clinical areas in the Hume Region

Allied Health Staff with an interest in pain management

Medical Staff with an interest in pain management

What is covered:

• Neurophysiology of pain
• Pain assessment
• Pharmacological management, “pills, pumps and potions” (including advanced pain modalities)
• Management of complex pain patients (SUD, opioid tolerance, central sensitisation and management of acute presentation of persistent pain).
• Interactive case studies – you solve the pain puzzle!
• CADD Solis devices
• For fun - Lets incorporate some mindfulness based activities and a discussion around placebo / nocebo
