*A tavern is said to have occupied the site since the 17th Century when this part of Glasgow was still countryside.
The present incarnation is housed in an eighteenth century two-storey cottage and has derived its name from the original pub,
also called Curlers’ Rest, which was situated next to a large pond which froze over every winter, enticing the local curlers to play on the ice.
