Speaker: Michael Bennett.

Topic: The life of John Monash: engineer, soldier, nation builder. 

Michael Bennett, the great-grandson of Sir John Monash, discusses key events of his life, his achievements and contribution to Australia. Michael will give anecdotes and insights from the family perspective, including discussing his autograph album, response to Australia’s flirtation with fascism, and friendship with a pioneer of aviation.

Michael Bennett’s career was leading strategic IT consulting services to organisations in the telecommunications, banking & finance, and healthcare sectors.

He holds a Bachelor of Science from Monash University and a Master of Management from the University of Melbourne.  

Michael is a member of the General Sir John Monash Foundation and has been Chairman of their Scholarships Selection Panel in Victoria. The John Monash Awards are Australia’s own postgraduate scholarships, with the aim to foster leadership, expertise and build Australia’s capabilities for the future.
