Books for sale from the Quick Brown Fox pop-up bookshop.

James Foley makes children’s books for children who read books. If you’re a child and you’re eating his books, you’re doing it wrong. He's the author and illustrator of many picture books and graphic novels including Bigfoot vs Yeti: A Love Story, Stellarphant, Happy Barry Capybara, Secret Agent Mole, Brobot, Gastronauts and Dungzilla. The colour edition of Chickensaurus will be out on June 1st. Legend says James can grow a beard in an afternoon. He is a massive Marvel movie nerd and comes from a long line of queuing enthusiasts. He lives near Freo/Walyalup in Western Australia with his wife Renae Hayward, their 2 kids, and a labrador called Frankie.

Gus Gordon is an internationally acclaimed illustrator and author. He has illustrated and/or written over 80 books for children. Katherine Battersby is the critically acclaimed author and illustrator of fifteen children’s books published around the world, including the popular Cranky Chicken series, as well as picture books Little Wing and the Squish Rabbit series. Her books have received glowing reviews in The New York Times, starred Kirkus reviews and been shortlisted for numerous awards. She is regularly booked to speak in schools, libraries and at festivals and she is a passionate advocate for literacy and the arts. In another life Katherine worked for many years as a paediatric occupational therapist, specialising as a children’s counsellor. After eleven years living abroad in Canada, Katherine has recently returned to live in Meanjin / Brisbane.

Rebecca Timmis is an award-winning author-illustrator from the sunny Gold Coast. She is the creator of the MerTales and Jawsome series. Rebecca loves to write magical and adventurous stories that make kids giggle. In 2023 she won a Golden Taco for the first Jawsome book in the Laugh Out Loud category. She’s had lots of real-life adventures like almost falling off the Great Wall of China, hiding from grizzly bears in Canada and being chased by wild pigs in outback Queensland. Her other jobs include coding websites, writing for the video game industry, and raising three (mostly) lovely boys.

Brent Wilson is a Brisbane-based author and illustrator who grew up on a healthy diet of cartoons, comics and corner-store lolly bags. His quirky illustrations regularly pop up here, there and — most importantly — in fun and funny books for kids!
