Elizabeth-Anne Nixon - organ
Narration by Jerzy Kozlowski & Sue Tweg
In 1976, Petr Eben composed the stage music for a production of Goethe's Faust. The work was commissioned for the Tricentenary celebration of the Vienna Burgtheater.
Eben's adaptation of his work for organ solo followed soon after. It is a highly programmatic and expressive work, full of vivid contrasts and the swirling contest between Good and Evil brought to life in sound.
After completing her Bachelor of Music degree in Brisbane, Elizabeth-Anne undertook extended studies with John O’Donnell (Melbourne), Lorenzo Ghielmi (Italy), Daniel Roth (France) and David Sanger (England). Elizabeth-Anne has divided her time principally between teaching, accompanying and organ performance.
