The View from the Inside: Understanding Comparison, Critique, and Rejection
This session examines competition, comparison, feedback, and perceived failure in dance. We'll discuss why we compare ourselves to others, how competition affects self-esteem and mindset, and the factors influencing dancers' self-perception. Finally, we'll explore tools to manage emotions, healthfully engage with feedback and critique, and navigate competitive environments effectively, and foster focus.
