Inspired by Brecht and theater with depth, in this advanced workshop you'll learn how to find surprise and delight in unexpected shifts, change and contradictions, challenging your preconceived notions about your scenes, narratives and characters -- maybe even improv! -- for richer, multi-dimensional work. We will explore clashes with improv "rules" and our own choices using acting, stagecraft, trust and the power of play. Be prepared for direct guidance, as these elements are specifically designed to help you surprise yourself and discover new creative avenues with tools you can take into the rest of your improv.Date
