Based on one of Hollywood’s most beloved rom-coms, the 1990 blockbuster Pretty Woman starring Julia Roberts (Vivian) and Richard Gere (Edward), this musical adaptation tells the iconic tale of a chance meeting between Edward (a ruthless businessman) and Vivian (a free-spirited escort) in a whole new way.It seems like only yesterday when we saw a young Richard Gere (Edward) wrestle with the gears on his borrowed Lotus Esprit after picking up Julia Roberts (Vivian) on a street corner. The movie was filled with so many iconic scenes its hard to pick which was best. No doubt, many of them will make it into the stage production.
Bryan Adams of "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You”, wrote the music to the stage production. The original "Pretty Woman" movie soundtrack and the "Pretty Woman: The Musical" soundtrack are distinct. The original soundtrack from the 1990 film, including Roxette's "It Must Have Been Love" and Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman" don’t make the musical.
