About
Started learning the violin, viola, cello or double bass this year? You’re invited to the very first Beginner Strings Day—a fun and supportive one-day workshop presented by AUSTA QLD and the Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra (SCYO). Tailored for students in their first year of playing, this event includes beginner-friendly ensemble sessions, technique reinforcement, and the chance to meet other young string players from across the region. Proudly supported by the Brisbane Airport Community Giving Fund, the day costs just $5 to attend and is all about building confidence, having fun, and making music together.For students:
- in Year 2 to Year 4 students (age 6-9)
- know at least, notes D, E, F# and G
Schedule:
- 8:45am Arrival
- 9:00am Session 1
- 9:45am Session 2
- 10:30 Break
- 11am Session 3
- 11:45am Prep/Tidy for Concert
- 12pm Concert for parents
