Year 11/12 Drama presents When Sand Becomes Glass by Anthony CrowleyAn Indonesian man flirts with a young Australian girl on a Bali beach. A policeman recounts the horror of a terrorist bombing, a Muslim woman rages at late night television & two drug traffickers have second thoughts in a cheap hotel room.
Set on the eve of the Bali Bombings, each of these stories & more are interwoven throughout the play creating a tapestry of modern Australia, colliding with the culture of a mysterious land.
Each character & situation revolve around the other, appearing & reappearing, echoing words & events through monologue and drama, satire & comedy, before culminating in the event that shook Australia to its core.
Held in the Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts - Drama Theatre on Tuesday 9th Sept, Wednesday 10th Sept, Thursday 11th September, from 7pm-8:45pm.
Due to Adult Themes & Coarse Language, this play is only suitable for ages 15+
