Prep & Year 1 Family Maths Evening
Our Prep and Year 1 Family Maths Evening is on Tuesday 5 August from 6pm – 7pm in the Victor Smorgon Hall.
Over the course of an hour, we will play 3 mathematically rich games taken directly from our Prep and Year 1 classrooms. In doing so, we hope to offer parents and carers insights into the power of educationally rich games to:
• Engage all learners' and promote enjoyable discussion
• Balance skill with luck though explicit teaching of strategies
• Highlight important mathematical concepts
• Practise mathematical skills and further fluency
• Differentiate and cater for a variety of learners
• Foster home school connections (Russo, Russo & Bragg, 2018).
